ROLE ELEVATOR PITCH

 


We are seeking experienced  Freelance QA testers to join our publishing partnerships team. In the role you will get the opportunity to work on a wide range of games and platforms, all while growing in knowledge and experience. We are looking for someone who can work under their own initiative, that can go beyond checkbox testing to delve deep into our games and provide valuable feedback to enhance the player experience.  

The successful candidate will be able to build and execute detailed test plans, have a working knowledge of both FQA and CQA practices, as well as being able to provide feedback on quality and improvements. They will also possess relevant games industry experience and be comfortable working with developers of varying sizes, talking to senior members of studios and building strong relationships to maintain a long working partnership between QA and development teams.  

Please note that this is a hybrid role, and as such, we would need the successful candidate to commute to the Letchworth office up to 3 days each week.”

 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Purpose of role:

 

  • Creating and executing efficient test plans for projects. 
  • Testing across a variety of platforms including PS4, PS5, Xbox One, XSX, Steam, Switch. 
  • Database management, with a focus on bug triage and prioritisation. 
  • Knowledge/Experience with Compliance testing for console platforms, ensuring games meet the standards of the platform holders. 
  • Familiarity with Language testing such as text bleed/overlaps. 
  • Assisting the team with ad-hoc tasks such as video capture, Age ratings and screenshots of games. 
  • Responding to customer support emails. 

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

 

  • Previous experience in a QA role within the games industry. 
  • Familiarity with bug databases and how to get the best out of them, primarily Mantis but JIRA, Testrail, Hansoft knowledge will be a bonus . 
  • Competency in delivering valuable feedback on product quality that developers can act on. 
  • Prior knowledge of submission and QA processes to ensure a successful submission and release. 
  • Knowledge of current game industry trends and an understanding of the global games industry. 
  • Attention to detail and diligent working attitude. 
  • Ability to work autonomously and use prior experience to assist independent decision making. 
  • Able to provide constructive feedback to various stakeholders, internally and externally. 
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills. 
  • A passion for video games and knowledge of the current platforms. 
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn. 
  • QA Automation experience is a plus, but not essential. 

 

 

KEY INFORMATION

 

Location: Letchworth (Venture House, SG6 2HW)
Hybrid: You will be required to work from our Letchworth offices Tues to Thurs when work is available (no fully remote positions)
Hours: Ad-hoc day to day
Travel: Some international travel may be required
Interview process: Will vary depending on CV but will potentially include video interview, formal interview (with presentation) and/or formal interview (no presentation)
