Overview
PQube is an established and consistently successful global videogames publisher for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC/Steam. We develop and publish games across multiple genres, including our own IP, creating a rich and diverse range of quality games. Amongst these are Japanese video games, from BlazBlue, Guilty Gear, Gal*Gun and Steins;Gate to indie games, such as Kitaria Fables, Tormented Souls, Cat Quest, New Super Lucky’s Tale, Evergate, Supermarket Shriek, Inertial Drift and more.
As PQube increasingly focuses on its development capability we are seeking a Producer to join our team to help us create amazing games.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role where you have a voice within a fast-moving, successful and growing business within the video games sector. With a hybrid working model you will enjoy a mix of office and home-based working. This will typically include 2 days a week in our Letchworth office collaborating with our development and marketing teams.
The role requires a hands-on style with solid experience in a relevant games development or production role.
Role Elevator Pitch
“We require a creative and passionate individual to work with our development partners to create amazing games by combining their talent with your vision, passion and guidance through the development process. This starts with involvement at the early stages of game evaluation followed by involvement in game design and collaboration with external developers, internal development and marketing teams to take products from concept to launch and beyond. They will need relevant games industry experience and be comfortable working with developers of varying sizes”.
Key Responsibilities
Purpose of role:
- Steer development teams during all stages of development, with a keen eye on user experience, competitor analysis, industry trends and adding creative shine to maximise every game’s potential.
- Professionally report to various stakeholders about project milestones, implement plans to manage development risks and ensure development challenges are overcome to deliver projects on time.
- Ensure that project milestones are met to the required quality and that all processes are continually evaluated to optimise resources and time.
- Work with the compliance team to ensure localisation, ratings and compliance matters are managed effectively and within project timescales.
- Identify new product opportunities, new technologies and new ideas and support the Head of Publishing in evaluating games ahead of signing.
- Development of game franchise plans, future feature ideas, DLC content and other long term planning.
- Liaise with the marketing team to ensure the marketing plans and development plans are in sync.
Essential Skills
- Previous experience in a development or producer role within the games industry.
- Knowledge of and passion for videogames.
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks for the benefit of the business.
- Knowledge of current game industry trends and an understanding of the global games industry.
- Attention to detail and diligent working attitude, constantly working on self-improvement and methods to improve existing internal processes.
- Quick learner with the ability to work autonomously and use prior experience to assist independent decision making.
- Ability to resonate with developers and internal teams through knowledge, enthusiasm and a can-do attitude.
Additional Skills
- Experience working with multi-national teams.
- Additional languages (especially Japanese or Chinese would be an advantage but not essential.
Key Infomation
Location: Bristol or Letchworth
Work from Home: 2 days a week, Monday and Friday Hours: 37.5 hours per week with some flexibility
Travel: Some international travel may be required
Holiday: 25 days + bank holidays
Interview process: Typically includes an initial video interview, followed by a more detailed video interview (perhaps including a project presentation) and/or a final face-to-face interview to meet the team and get to know the company.
