OVERVIEW
PQube is a global videogames publisher for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC/Steam. We specialise in publishing Japanese video games, from BlazBlue, Guilty Gear, Gal*Gun and Steins;Gate to indie games, such as Kitaria Fables, Tormented Souls, Cat Quest, New Super Lucky’s Tale, Evergate, Supermarket Shriek, Inertial Drift and more.
This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-moving, successful and growing business within the video games sector.
With a hybrid working model, you will enjoy a mix of office and home-based working. This will typically include 3 days a week in our Letchworth office collaborating with our development and marketing teams and 2 days from home.
The role requires a hands-on style, with 3+ years experience in product management, with a specific interest in our Asia category which includes Visual Novels, Otome, JRPG and games with a distinctly anime style to them.
ROLE ELEVATOR PITCH
“We need an experienced product manager with a marketing background, that is passionate about video games that have a distinctive Asian style, capable of confidently communicating in Japanese with our partners in Japan”
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Purpose of role:
To support the CMO in giving our Asia category products the best possible chance of success by:
- Overseeing the development and delivery of marketing strategy on individual PQube games (specifically those within our Asia category)
- Liaising with the Operations and Production team to ensure the timely release of the product
- Managing budgets on individual titles
- Co-ordination of timings and placement of advertising activity
- Developing relationships with key clients – from developers to distribution partners
- Overseeing all marketing creative – from design to video direction
- Presenting product to key retail accounts, consumers, press and sales teams
- Communicating marketing updates and activities to the clients, group and sales teams
- Reporting on current campaigns and optimising them for the best possible delivery
- Ensuring the products are listed online for sale
- Social media coordination with the Community Manager to develop your products’ awareness across social media
- PR and influencer coordination with the PR team to develop your products’ awareness across press and influencer platforms
- Event management and on-site presence at events both domestic and international
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
Key measures will include:
- Sell through of the product – did your product sell?
- Controls – showing a clear understanding of spend against budgets
- Ownership – end to end ownership of the success of the product
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Fluent in Japanese
- At least three years of experience in either an in-house or agency marketing position
- Degree level education in a business or marketing field
- Huge passion for, and knowledge of, video games and gaming culture – specifically games in the Asia category
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Google Docs, and Photoshop
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to track several projects over many months
- The confidence to present professionally to external partners – from sales and retail to consumers and media
- Strong Marketing fundamentals
- Comfortable working under pressure, with multiple parallel deadlines

- Comfortable working individually and as part of a team – there will be a healthy mix of working on your own (setting up campaigns etc) and as part of a team (working with various departments within the company)
KEY INFORMATION
Location: Letchworth
Work from Home: 2 days a week, Monday and Friday
Hours: 37.5 hours per week with some flexibility
Travel: Some international travel may be required
Holiday: 25 days + bank holidays
