OVERVIEW


PQube is a world class global publisher of video games and is seeking to continue its growth with the appointment of a creative and motivated individual to manage its social media activities.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast moving, successful and growing business within the video games sector.

The role requires a hands-on style with 3+ years’ experience in a practical social media management role.

You will be responsible for working with our product management teams and for generating assets and copy for a range of communities (totalling over 350,000 fans across all brands and networks), across multiple product genres through multiple social media platforms.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

Increase sales of our video games through social media channels. Working with the Product Management team you will be responsible for:

Community Engagement and First-Party News Management:

  • Focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with our player base across all platforms. Regularly monitor and moderate discussions to ensure they remain positive and constructive.
  • Oversee community interactions on Steam and provide a space that is responsive and feels alive.
  • For PlayStation Partners, Nintendo NCMS, and Xbox Dev. Ensure that all relevant platforms are managed effectively, with regular news updates and responses to player inquiries. All information should derive from Press Releases and other approved external comms.
  • Actively provide patch notes and other noteworthy dialogue to keep the Steam community informed and engaged. It’s important that these updates are clear and timely, to maintain transparency and trust.

Social Media Management:

  • Develop and publish engaging content regularly, ensuring consistency in our brand voice and messaging. 
  • Plan and execute social media campaigns to promote key events and updates, tracking their effectiveness and adjusting strategies as needed.

Event Coordination:

  • Organise both online and offline community events to foster engagement and build a loyal player base. Collaborate with the development team for in-game events.
  • Take charge of Gaming Award applications with support from the Product Manager, ensuring that all necessary documentation and materials are prepared and submitted on time. You’ll be the amplifier of these initiatives.

Analytics and Reporting:

  • Regularly monitor social media and community metrics, using data to inform decisions and improve our strategies. Provide detailed reports to the relevant stakeholders.

Crisis Management:

  • Be prepared to handle any crises or negative situations swiftly. Ensure transparent and empathetic communication with the community during such times. Support will be provided in these situations from the management team, but you would be expected to give guidance on best practices.

Collaboration with Development Teams:

  • Serve as a bridge between the community and our external development teams. Ensure that player feedback is effectively communicated and considered internally (Marketing and Production).

Influencer and Partner Relationships:

  • Manage relationships with influencers and content creators. Work on long-term collaborations that align with our game’s values and audience.

Content and Communication Strategy:

  • Develop a long-term content strategy that aligns with our broader marketing goals. Regularly update our content calendar in our project management system (ClickUp) to keep track of all activities.  

Best Practices and Tools:

  • Understand the Audience: Tailoring content and communication to resonate with our player demographics.
  • Maintain Consistent Communication: Keep the community informed with regular updates and ensure transparency.
  • Engage Actively: Focus on authentic, two-way communication with our fans.
  • Foster Positivity: Maintain a supportive and inclusive community environment.
  • Leverage UGC: Encourage and showcase user-generated content to drive engagement.
  • Collaborate Effectively: Continue building strong partnerships with influencers and content creators.
  • Plan and Measure: Use our tools like Sprout for scheduling and analytics, and Click Up for managing your content calendar and tasks.
  • Stay Updated: Keep an eye on industry trends and competitor strategies to refine our approach.

 

SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 3+ years’ experience in a practical social media management role.
  • Practical experience with TikTok / Facebook / Instagram / Twitter / Reddit / Discord and other leading social media marketing platforms is essential. This is a hands-on role where you will be creating and managing content.
  • Strong level of the fundamentals of social media marketing metrics / tools and optimisation strategies.
  • A track record of building communities in the video game industry.
  • Passionate about video games.

You would be responsible for delivery of the social media strategy and content for the products you are working on.

Key measures will include:

  • Sell through of the product – did the social media marketing campaign deliver sales?
  • Intelligent time management and scheduling – ensuring effective community management and development in the areas which deliver against the business objectives
  • Ownership – end to end ownership of the social media marketing activities and communities for the relevant products you are working on

KEY INFO

Location: Letchworth (Spirella Building , SG6 4ET)

Remote: Hybrid, 2 days in the office, 3 days from home

Work from Home: 3 days a week, Monday, Thursday and Friday

Hours: 9am – 5.30pm – Monday to Friday

Travel: Some international travel may be required
