Product Group Manager – 3rd Party Products

Letchworth / Full Time


PQube is a global video games publisher for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC/Steam. We specialise in publishing indie games, such as Potion Permit, Kitaria Fables, Tormented Souls, Cat Quest, New Super Lucky’s Tale, Evergate, Inertial Drift and have a vibrant history publishing Japanese video games, from BlazBlue, Guilty Gear, Gal*Gun and Steins;Gate. This role will be specifically in the 3rd party indie team and will have no responsibility on our Asia products.

This is a unique opportunity to join a fast moving, successful and growing business within the video games sector, directly managing a pipeline of highly-anticipated products that includes Tormented Souls 2, Discounty, Resistor and more.

PQube is currently looking for a Product Group Manager to join the Letchworth team working a hybrid model of 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.

The role requires a hands on style, with 5+ years’ experience in product management.


“We need a product group manager with a wealth of experience to launch our upcoming titles which include Tormented Souls 2, Discounty and Resistor, alongside a range of other high quality titles. You need to understand the development process and how to align and deliver a marketing plan, coordinating between internal and external resources. You will be the central communicator between all major stakeholders in the project and have overall responsibility (working closely with the producer) for aligning all relevant departments to achieve the release date. You will manage a small team of technical specialists and will have an assistant product manager to support your plans and delivery.”


Purpose of role:

To support the Divisional Manager in giving our products the best possible chance of success by:

  • Overseeing the development and delivery of marketing strategy on individual PQube games
  • Liaising with the Operations and Production team to ensure the timely release of product
  • Managing budgets on individual titles
  • Coordination of timings and placement of advertising activity
  • Developing relationships with key clients – from developers to distribution partners
  • Overseeing all marketing creative – from design, to video direction
  • Overseeing the design and manufacture of merchandise
  • Presenting product to key retail accounts, consumers, press and sales teams
  • Communicating marketing updates and activity to the clients, group and sales teams
  • Reporting on current campaigns and optimising them for the best possible delivery
  • Ensuring the products are listed online for sale
  • Social media coordination with the Community Manager to develop your products’ awareness and general category strategy
  • PR and Influencer strategy and outreach – identifying influencers, writing press releases, managing key distribution and all other related activities to raise awareness through other earned media
  • Event management and on-site presence at events both domestic and international


Key measures will include:

  • Sell through of the product – did your product sell?
  • Controls – showing a clear understanding of spend against budgets
  • Ownership – end to end ownership of the products success


  • At least five years’ experience in either an in-house or agency marketing position
  • Games Industry experience
  • A track record of releasing video games
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and/or Google Docs
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to track several projects over many months
  • The confidence to present professionally to external partners – from sales and retail to consumers and media
  • Strong Marketing fundamentals
  • Comfortable working under pressure, with multiple parallel deadlines


  • Degree level education in a business or marketing field
  • Huge passion for, and knowledge of, videogames and gaming culture
  • An understanding of Graphic Design and the ability to effectively brief and communicate accordingly
  • Integrity, trustworthiness, flexibility and adaptability
  • A proactive, get stuck-in approach
  • Well-organised and presentable


  • Self-sufficient in managing a product without regular input from management
  • Involved in product selection
  • Skills to identify and quantify market opportunities
  • Capable of training and managing Product Managers and Assistant Product Managers
  • Coaching of Product Managers on Strategic Marketing
  • Capable of managing products of all sizes with comfort – project managing and time managing accordingly against a business plan

  • Comfortable working individually and as part of a team – there will be a healthy mix of working on your own (setting up campaigns etc) and as part of a team (working with various departments within the company)

Location: Letchworth (Spirella Building).

Working model:  Hybrid working pattern, Tuesday and Wednesday required in the office.

Hours: 9am – 5.30pm – Monday to Friday (with flexibility outside the core hours of 10am – 4.30pm).

Travel: Some international travel may be required.
